In the u14 girls singles final a repeat of the 40×20 final Emma Conway had a convincing win against Angel Cronin Kenny from Wexford on a score of 15-5 & 15-0, where Emma has now claimed a total of 4 major national titles this season and still has another year to compete at u14 level. She has had a great season and no doubt there will be more to come for this wee star.
In the u14 girls doubles Kaylagh Bradley & Caoimhe Maguire in their first year playing 60×30 and are also eligible next year, were up against a strongly fancied Kilkenny pairing of Caoilinn Dowling and Ellie Roche. The girls battled well against the more experienced Kilkenny girls but the Greencastle girls can be very proud of their efforts especially just to reach the final after beating the Munster champions in the semi finals last weekend. Well done on claiming a silver medal.
U15 girls doubles Maryjo Morris & Kayleigh McCoole claimed victory against Meath girls Sophie Griffin & Amy Lynch on a score of 15-6 & 15-0. Well done to Maryjo and it is a great achievement to claim her first All Ireland medal and fully deserved after all the extra training and effort she has put into the sport over this past few years.
U17 girls singles Alice McGlinchey claimed victory against Nóra Smith from Leitrim on a score of 21-11 & 21-11 in what was one of the best games of the day. Alice come out top against her Leitrim opponent and had to battle to the very end of each game to claim her first All Ireland title. Well done Alice and well deserved!
