Scór Sinsir 2024

A massive congratulations to our Solo Singer and Ballad Group who have successfully secured their place in the Ulster Final of Scór Sinsir 2024.

This has been a memorable year so far for senior Scór in the club, having lifted 3 county titles on Sunday 10th March in a highly competitive and entertaining county final.

The first success of the night was for Cara-Rose Brogan in the Solo Singing competition, earning the county title for the 2nd year in a row with a beautiful rendition of “The Boys of Barr Na Sraide”.

Our Ballad Group consisting of Cara-Rose Brogan, Zoe Douglas, Amanda Donnelly, Dominic Douglas & Liam Donnelly secured the club’s second county title. The audience were treated to exceptional performances of “The Ballad of Michael Collins” & “Tipping it up to Nancy”, seeing off tough competition from Carrickmore, Eire Og, Aghyaran and last year’s All Ireland finalists, Omagh St. Enda’s.

Adding county title number 3 was our Instrumental Group consisting of Gráinne Conway, Cáit Níc Uladh, Jolene McBride, Connor McCullagh and Stephen McNamee. A fantastic achievement for a talented group of musicians who came together to form an excellent group.

Ulster Semi Final

The Ulster Semi Final was held on Sunday 7th April in Killeavy, Co. Armagh to a full house. This set out to be a highly competitive semi-final from the outset, with representatives from Tyrone, Armagh, Derry & Down all fighting to secure their places in the Ulster final. After polished performances and a nervous wait for the results, the club were announced as Ulster Finalists in the Solo Singing and Ballad Group competitions. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be for our Instrumental Group despite a fantastic performance. We would like to thank them for their efforts this year and extend our congratulations once again on becoming county champions.

Our attention now turns to the Ulster Final which takes place in St. Joseph’s Boys School, Derry City, on Saturday 20th April at 12 noon. All support is greatly encouraged and appreciated as our two acts hope to bring home provincial titles and secure their places in the All-Ireland Final in Killarney on the 11th May.

Ádh mór oraibh!
